The Start:
This is located approximately 500 metres from the south-western edge of the car park. There is one start for all courses. However, from this, there are two start controls; one for competitors on the Yellow to Light Green courses and another for all other courses. From the start line, you will follow a mandatory taped route of approximately 20 metres to the yellow to light green start and 50 metres to the other start. The start boxes will be arranged to ensure that you arrive at the correct start flag.
Please listen to the start marshal’s instructions to make sure you are setting off to your correct start flag. Check you have the correct map as you start.
Start times have not been allocated. Please make you way to the start when ready. Based on numbers expected on each course you should not have too long to wait before you are able to start your run. Control descriptions will be available to pick up in the start lanes.
The Finish:
The finish is located close to the start approximately 400 metres from the car park. There is a common last control for all courses with a short taped route to the finish line.
Any competitors who chose to leave clothing or other items in the vicinity of the start or finish do so at their own risk. No water provided at finish, please bring your own.
Safety:
There are some ponds on the area. There should be no need for any competitor to go into these.
The area is used for military training, and some evidence of this can be found on the dunes. Do not touch any such objects.
The area is widely used by the public - please be courteous to other users of the dunes.
The area can become quite exposed in bad weather. Please come prepared with cagoules and whistles should the organiser rule in bad conditions that these are mandatory.
Some areas of the dunes have cattle grazing at different times. The organiser will establish if there are any on the area on the day of the event and post a notice at the start. The cattle are docile and safe in public areas. Should you see any, please avoid startling them and pass with a wide berth!
You MUST report to download, even if you do not complete your course. Courses close at, and controls will be collected in from, 1500 hours.
First Aid will be provided by qualified club members at assembly.
The nearest A&E is at North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple EX31 4JB, location map available at assembly if needed.
Results:
