The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy at the Atlanta Speech School provides professional development for teachers of children birth through third grade. Partnering with public and private organizations, the center delivers effective language and literacy strategies teachers can use to transform young lives. By translating cutting edge research into real world solutions, Rollins helps teachers put children on a path to learn to read and then read to learn. The center is particularly focused on helping teachers of children of generational poverty with the greatest risk of illiteracy.

The opportunity to launch our “on the ground” work to a state-wide scale depends on the use of technology in order to reach all teachers in Georgia. Thanks to a generous grant from the Cox Foundation, Read Right From the Start, our live professional development training, transformed into an online community of practice and provides access to continuing education through the Cox Campus to help us meet our goal that by 2020 every early childhood educator in Georgia will have the skills to effectively prepare each of our children to meet or exceed grade level reading requirements by the end of 3rd grade.

The Atlanta Speech School provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
