Dear Friends and Family:
The Progressives-Harambe, Inc. is hosting its 36th annual fundraising event, “Rock the Runway with The Progressives-Harambe," Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
The Progressives-Harambe, Inc., founded in 1972, is a non-profit organization comprised of women dedicated to promoting academic excellence and building stronger communities. The organization’s primary purposes are twofold: 1) help cultivate and develop children in every important aspect of their lives—educationally, culturally, socially and emotionally; and 2) provide assistance to families in emergency situations.
Our philanthropic efforts are supported entirely with the proceeds of our annual fundraiser, where more than 1000 guests enjoy the best fashion show in the Chicago land area. Scholarship recipients are the greatest benefactors of our efforts. For the past five years, we have provided educational grants in excess of $20,000 each year.
Students from the following high schools have been recipients of academic awards: Argo, Bolingbrook Community, Downers Grove North/South, Glenbard South, Hinsdale Central, IMSA, Lyons Township, Morgan Park, Naperville Central, Neuqua Valley, Oak Park-River Forest, Proviso East/West, Rich South, Romeoville, St. Charles East, St. Ignatius College Preparatory, Thornridge, Waubonsie Valley, West Aurora, Wheaton North, Whitney Young Magnet, and Willowbrook. Academic awards have also been granted to students attending various colleges and universities.
