AGILITY SEMINAR – AUGUST 16, 17 & 18, 2013

The Performance Agility Club of Edmonton (P.A.C.E.) is pleased to offer a seminar with:

Lorelei Purdy

“your agility dog is a canine athlete”

In 1992, agility became Lorelei’s steadfast passion after attending an agility demo at a local pet fair. She started training her first Cocker Spaniel that same year, competing in her first agility trial in 1993. Lorelei has been actively involved in the sport of agility ever since.

Over the 20 years that Lorelei has been involved in agility, she has completed many top titles with her dogs and competed successfully in many local regional and national agility competitions across the United States. Lorelei is a multi-venue agility competitor herself, trialing her dogs in both American Kennel Club (AKC) agility and North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) agility.

Lorelei started teaching agility in 1994 and is very proud of her students’ accomplishments over the years. Most of her students trial in more than one agility venue and compete in national competitions for these various venues.

In 1997, Lorelei became an AKC agility judge and in 2000, she became a NADAC agility judge. In 2007, she was selected to judge the AKC National Invitational competition. Lorelei enjoys every aspect of being an agility judge, from watching teams negotiate her courses, to travelling to different locations and meeting new handlers with the same passion for the sport.

Lorelei’s personal desire to compete with her dogs in more than one agility venue was the inspiration for her unique training philosophy. She has based her agility training methods on her understanding of canine structure and uses this understanding as her foundation for training agility dogs.

Loreleifundamentally believes that byteachinghandlers to recognize and understand their dog’s athletic strengths and weaknesses, and show themhow to work with those strengths and weaknesses, any dog/handler team can smoothly, efficiently and successfully negotiate any agility course.
