Explanation of Accounts 2016-17 – East Hanney Parish Council.

The Parish Council’s asset register has increased in value from £125203 to £140135.

The Council purchased new goals at a cost of £3655.

The Council purchased a new piece of playground equipment at a cost of £6500.

The Council purchased three new dog waste bins at a cost of £259 each, totalling £777.00.

The Parish Council has included a second bus shelter in its asset register, this asset had not been included any years since its installation. No records of its installation can be located, though the County Council advise it is the property of the Parish Council. Its purchase and replacement cost has been estimated at £4000.

Decrease in receipts from £49479 to £39803.

The Parish Council was in receipt of fewer section 106 payments and other grants than in 2015-16.

In 2016-17:

The Parish Council was in receipt of a Communities Grant of £8296 in June 2016 towards the production of a Neighbourhood Plan.

The Parish Council was in receipt of a grant of £918 in September 2016 from the County Council Highways Division to undertake the maintenance of highway verges in the village

The Parish Council was in receipt of a section 106 payment of £2930 in October 2016 for the purchase of goals suitable for the Hanney Youth football club, purchased in September 2016.

The Parish Council was in receipt of a two part capital grant of £3250 in October and January as part payment for the new piece of playground equipment installed in November.

Increase in staff costs from £4167 to £5000.

The Parish Council agreed an increase in the salary of the Clerk in recognition of the increased hours required for the role. This was minuted at the September 2015 meeting of the PC (copy enclosed with 2015-16 audit).

Increase in all other payments from £27946 to £58140.

In 2016-17:

The Parish Council installed a new piece of playground equipment, part grant funded. The amount funded by the Council was £3250.

The Parish Council carried out repairs and maintenance to its existing playground equipment, at a total cost of £2479.

The Parish Council installed fencing and other improved security measures around its playing fields, at a total cost of £2068.

The Parish Council purchased new goals suitable for the youth football team, part S106 funded. The amount funded by the Council was £725.

In the production of its Neighbourhood Plan, the Council engaged a number of specialists, at a total cost of £14065. The total cost of developing the Plan in 2016-17 was £15368.
