Mandatory AFJROTC

Community Service Event!!

The Westminster High School AFJROTC CO-062 cadets participate in two major community service events each year. These events are mandatory/Graded for all AFJROTC cadets in the program. The community service event for the first semester is the “Veterans Day Parade” held on Sat 12 Nov 2016. This event celebrates and honors our Military Veterans who have served and are currently serving to protect and ensure our freedom.

The Parade is scheduled to begin at 1000 hrs. (10 am) and finish at approximately 1300 hrs. (1 PM).

All JROTC Units will be in the Vietnam Era segment of the parade.

AFJROTC Veterans Day Parade

Transportation: All cadets MUSTmeet at the WHS flag pole and ride the Westminster school bus to our destination and return to WHS. Cadets may ride home with Parents or Guardians with approval from MSgt Temple. All parents/guardians must speak with MSgt Temple directly to verify they are taking a cadet home. A cadet saying their ride is here will not be sufficient.

We will not release any cadets without direct parent/guardianverification.

Cadet Arrival time @ WHS flag pole: 0715 hrs.

Bus Departure Time from WHS: 0730 hrs.

●Parents are encourage to attend, but must have their own transportation to the parade as the bus is filled to capacity by the cadets and their equipment.

Dress, Appearance, and Uniform requirements:

  • Class “A” service coat with rank and ribbons (No Name Tag on coat), flight cap,proper hair cut or style, proper shave, blue uniform shirt,white t-shirt, tie (male) or tie tab (female), blue uniform pants, belt/buckle,black dress socks, and black uniform shoes.
  • Proper haircuts and shaves (males) or Hair Styles (female)
  • No inappropriate ear rings, nail polish, piercings or jewelry (see cadet guide for details)

Cadets arriving at WHS whodo not meet allDress / Appearance and Uniform standards or are missing components from their uniform (i.e. their flight cap, will not be allowed to participate in the parade and must return home with their parents/guardians)! They cannot board the bus for the event!

Ensure you and your uniform are fully prepared NLT Thursday 10 Nov. Have your uniform set out and ready by Friday night.

Important Notice: CO-062 cadets will participate in the parade regardless of the outside temperature. If there are any questions regarding participation due to rain or heavy snow please call or Text MSgt Temple at (434) 409-9835 the morning of the event.
