Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship
The purpose of the OSU Marion Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholarshipsare to provide especially promising junior and senior rank candidates for graduation with distinction the opportunity to enhance the quality of their Senior Thesis Projects with $500 research funding that might be renewable to a maximum of two semesters.
To be eligible, applicant must be enrolled as an Ohio State student on the Marion Campus during the semester of the award, have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA, and have initiated a non-honors senior thesis with a faculty advisor.
Selection will be made in consultation with the honors committee and will be based upon the quality of the research proposal, the student’s academic performance and promise, and the faculty project adviser’s statement regarding the structure and substance of plans for the applicant’s research experience.
Application Due Date:
End of fourth week of Spring or Autumn Semester
Application Process
Initial Request:
- Complete the Thesis grant application form
- Attach a double-spaced, typewritten statement that includes:
- A one- to two-page description of your Thesis Project problem and hypothesis
- A brief explanation of how the research grant will enable you to enhance the quality of the project
- Faculty Project Statement
If request is for renewal:
- A progress report that summarizes what has been done and what needs to be done in the next stage of the research project.
