THE PURPOSE OF THE OHIO AGRICULTURAL HALL OF FAME is to recognize outstanding contributions by an individual to agriculture in the state of Ohio. Annual awards to the Hall of Fame will honor men and women who have made outstanding contributions to Ohio's agriculture.
RECIPIENTS OF THE AWARDS may beeither of the following categories:
- Farmer or Breeder - one who has made his or her major contribution from the land and the products thereof
- Agricultural - Related Activity
NUMBER OF AWARDS made in any year may not exceed four and the number of posthumous not to exceed two.
NOMINATIONS may be made by any individual or organization in Ohio by completing a nomination form and returning it to the: Hall of Fame Committee, Ohio Agricultural Council, 5950 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43229.
THE NOMINATION FORM is in Microsoft Word format. Please adapt the question space as needed. Do not change, delete or add to the questions on the form. Please be sure to sign the printed form when complete.
ALL NOMINATIONS must be postmarked or in the hands of the Agricultural Hall of Fame Committee NO LATER THAN Thursday,March 31, 2016, on a properly prepared nomination form complete with photo and letters of recommendation. Such forms will be available through the Agricultural Hall of Fame Committee.
A PANEL OF ANONYMOUS JUDGES will be selected each year by the Ohio Agricultural Council executive committee or their designee. The decision of the judges shall be final. Nominations will be reconsidered in subsequent years if the nominator contacts our office with the request. Updated information including letters of recommendation needs to be included.
THE OHIO AGRICULTURAL HALL OF FAME COMMITTEE will cooperate with the Ohio Exposition Commission in arranging a suitable time, place, and method for the awards presentation. The first was held at the 1966 Ohio State Fair.
THE AWARD shall include an appropriate plaque signed by the Ohio Agricultural Council President and the recipient’s picture displayed within the Ohio Agricultural Council’s Hall of Fame Display housed at the Ohio Expositions Center.
THE OHIO AGRICULTURAL COUNCIL executive committee shall determine the tenure of the Agricultural Hall of Fame Committee, with proper carryover to have consistent annual operation of the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame.
