Eligibilityfor the position requires one year of qualifying experience, or one and one half years of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position (ie, food, nutrition, or dietetics), or a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this postion.

This position is located in the Clinical Nutrition Service, Nutrition Department, Clinical Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH). The position provides technical assistance to the metabolic and clinical research dietitians in managing the nutritional care and research support services for patients of the NIH Clinical Center, including the Metabolic Clinical Research Unit and Metabolic Kitchen as well as other patient care units as assigned.

If you are selected for this position, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Screens newly admitted patients and evaluates data gathered to determine the patient's level of nutritional risk and medical and research priorities.

Plans menus for complex clinical and research diets and monitors compliance to menus.

Performs body composition assessment.

Collects and analyzes research data collected from patients including food records, food recalls, and dietary questionnaires.

Maintains nutrient database for the Metabolic Kitchen including reviewing new ingredients and food products and updating the nutrient database.

Assists in coordinating metabolic food service activities.
