The Need Of The Woman

·  This woman is introduced as lonely, isolated, impoverished, quite likely anemic, and possibly dying. Her condition appears hopeless and she is desperate. Most would think that she is better off dead.

·  She mixes into the crowd, deliberately orchestrates an encounter with Jesus. Although she thinks it will be a quick, unnoticed, she soon learns that Jesus engages those who encounter him, especially one who draws power from him.

The Response Of Jesus

·  The use of the word “daughter” is significant. This is the only time Jesus uses this word to speak to his believers. “This is the only place in the Gospels where Jesus called someone "daughter." The woman's faith in Jesus had brought her into His spiritual family.

·  Although the woman feared she may have caused Jesus to become unclean, he instead made the woman clean wiping out any sign of sickness and defilement.

Jesus’ View Of Us

·  Romans 8:15 “Foryou did not receivethe spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit ofadoption as sons, by whom we cry,“Abba!”

·  God welcomes us in our broken state to call him Dad. He is the only one that understands what we are going through and He desires for us to experience closeness with Him.
