THEMUCKRAKING PLOT UNFOLDS

Many folks are wondering why Don A. Waite, all of a sudden, is bashing Gail Riplinger in regard to her personal life. Well, you see, Don Waite does not like folks who are so vocal about the KJB being inspired or his wife being contradicted. This old correspondence that started with Don Waite’s scholarly wife, Yvonne, should give you some insighton this. The following is an exchange between me and Don Waite and his wife. Don Waite answered my 3 questions in place of his wife, and I responded with further questions to which Don Waite did not answer, and I did not received another reply. – Herb Evans

A SPEECH ON "INSPIRATION"

I was burdened this year to speak to the women on "BIBLE INSPIRATION" (BFT #3148 @ $1.50 + $1.00 S&H). I had just finished making eight radio programs on the subject, "WHAT IS BIBLE INSPIRATION, ANYHOW?," in order to refresh my mind on WHAT "inspiration" really meant (#JFW /40 @ $4.00 + $1.00 S&H)). So, when I sat down to make notes for the DBS WOMEN, it turned out that I wrote the whole speech instead of notes. It is very important that we understand the difference between a translation and the actual "God-breathed inspiration." No translation--no matter how excellent or revered-- is "God breathed"! Yet, some are insisting that MANY translations are "inspired." When I was younger, I thought my Bible was inspired; but as I've learned from my husband and, now, my personal study, I see how wrong that was. God did not breathe-out the writings or saying of the translators of the King James Bible. Do you think that God used John Overall, Hadrian Savaria, or Robert Tighe the same way He used Ezekiel, Nahum, Amos, or Paul? Maybe when you read or listen to my speech, you'll understand what I am saying. It is an important, misunderstood issue in the teaching of "inspiration" today. We get our understanding of it all from 2 Timothy 3:16. The Greek word, "Theopneustos," is translated into the English words, "GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD." THAT'S WHAT 'INSPIRED' MEANS: "GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD." A translation cannot be "given by inspiration of God." – Yvonne Waite

Subject: Inspired?

Dear Mrs. Waite,

Am I to understand by this that

1. No translations are inspired?

2. No Hebrew or Greek copies are inspired?

3. The copies that Timothy had were not inspired?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Don Waite Covers for his Wife, who is unable to Answer and Herb Evans Responds to D. A. Waite

Waite:Dear Brother Evans,

Mrs. Waite has asked me to reply in her behalf. Here is my answer to which she agrees.

Evans:Am I to understand by this that:

1. No translations are inspired?

Waite:1. A. Correct. I do not believe any "translations" are "inspired," that is the Words were not "God-breathed" or "breathed out by God." D.A.W.

Evans:1. B. Which Hebrew and Greek copies were breathed out by God?

2. No Hebrew or Greek copies are inspired?

Waite: 2.A. Incorrect. I do believe exact Hebrew and Greek copies are "inspired," that is, they are very Words (even though exact copies of those Words) which were "God-breathed" or "breathed out by God." D.A.W.

Waite:2.B. How so God breathed, after the passing of centuries? Is the God breathed quality a continual or continuous process, or is it double inspiration process?

Evans:3. The copies that Timothy had were not inspired?

Waite:3. A. Incorrect. I do believe that the exact Hebrew copies and any exact Greek copies of the books already written to that time were "inspired," that is, they are the very Words (even though exact copies of those Words) which were "God-breathed" or "breathed out by God."

Evans:3. B. Do you know which ones were inspired and which ones are not? Which ones were the exact copies? One More Question, Please!

4. Since we are told that unsaved Masoretes added the vowel points, were the vowel points inspired. If not, how do you have inspired or God breathed Hebrew texts? -- Thank you, Herb Evans

None of my responses to Don Waite’s responses were answered. Can you figure out why? Now you know why Don Waite or his wife cannot meet Gail Riplinger head on in regard to the issue and why he must resort to muckraking.
