This workshop is for Health Professionals and Service Providers who work in the Aged Care sector - to help develop a “tailored” individual approach to assist older adults who have conditions that affect their decision-making capacity.
We offer an interactive workshop with a practical focus based on real case scenarios.
Participants will learn about:
- The changing context of aged care provision and rising level of consumer and carer expectations.
- Applying legal and ethical principles.
- Applying step by step capacity screening approach.
- Responding to an older adult following a capacity assessment.
- Preparing Guardianship and Administration Tribunal Applications, including requirements for supporting evidence.
- Understand personal and legal impact of appointment, including end of life decision making.
