The Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Community Fund for community organisations and voluntary groups based within a 10 km radius of the site.
What is the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Community Fund?This grant scheme has been set up to support community organisations and voluntary groups, including social enterprises, based within a 10 km radius of the site. It has been made available by Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Ltd., operated by Innogy Renewables UK Limited. The Community Foundations in Kent & Sussex are co-ordinating the grant scheme.
Who is eligible for a grant?
Local community organisations and voluntary groups operating within a 10 kilometre radius of Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm that are undertaking environmental, educational, community and charitable activities. Please refer to the map enclosed to check your group’s activities fall within the radius.
All applicant organisations must:
· Have a bank account requiring two signatures to make withdrawals
· Be properly constituted
· Be not for profit or a social enterprise/community business
Applicants must be able to provide copies of their constitution and latest audited annual accounts or reports.
What can a grant be used for?
A grant of up to £5,000 may be used to support a one-off activity, ongoing activities or for minor capital expenditure e.g.
· to purchase equipment
· to produce publicity material
· towards or run a pilot project
· to assist with running costs
· minor capital works
· to contribute to or pay the costs of an outing
Who is ineligible for a grant?
Grants will not be awarded to:
· Statutory or public services
· Organisations that have large reserves that are not designated for a specific purpose
· Organisations that do not operate or run activities within the area of benefit
· Groups not properly constituted
How can an application be made to the grant scheme?
Applications can be made to the grant scheme by completing the relevant application form (available from either Kent or Sussex Community Foundation – see below) and returning by 5pm on the deadline (see table of grants for this).
Applications will be considered twice a year. Grants will be allocated for amounts between £500 and £5,000. Please ask for an amount within these limits.
