Significant improvements in homecare reported:

In September 2015, the council changed how it works with companies providing home care. It went from dealing directly with more than 70 companies, to contracting with just 12 prime providers, each covering a geographical zone within Lincolnshire.

The council was awarded the Government Opportunities Innovation or Initiative of the Year for 2016 for the work. A recent survey of people receiving homecare saw high satisfaction rates, with 98% happy with the treatment from their carer and 96% saying care was delivered at a pace that suited them.Significant improvements in homecare reported

Street Lights:

Lincolnshire County Council is transforming the way it provides street lightingin Lincolnshire to save over £1.7m per year, reduce LCC’s carbon footprint by over 6,000 tonnes of CO2, reduce light pollution and ongoing maintenance needs.

In order to achieve this we need to make changes to 58,000 of our 68,000 street lights by the end of March 2017. With this in mind it has been decided that our resources must focus on implementing the changes, in order to enable the authority to meet the required savings. We are responding to emergency street lighting faults; these are where an issue could cause immediate danger such as when a street light has been knocked over by a vehicle, wires are bare or the clear lens of the lamp is dislodged and in danger of falling. Non-emergency faults will now be completed at the end of the main project.

The street lighting crews are currently focusing on completing the county wide part night lighting changes during the 2nd week in March, at which point their focus will move to investigating all outstanding LCC street lighting faults. The intention is to have the vast majority of these repaired by the end of March.
