Most people don’t realize that there are only 3 choices of where the money from your estate can go. The first choice is most often your family, but the estate must then pay taxes unless arrangements have been made to give money to a charity - that will help to offset the estate taxes.

Legacy Gifts are a great way for someone to accomplish their financial estate goals while at the same time leaving a lasting impression on their community. Even leaving just 1% of your estate to your favourite charity can have a tremendous impact.

Since 1998, the Kay Stafford Memorial Fund has provided: ambulances, defibrillators, health and safety training, stretchers, oximeters, first aid kits, CPR courses and so much more. Kay Stafford was not someone you would automatically consider a “rich” women, she lived modestly and worked as postal clerk for many years. This proves that the point that an “ordinary person can provide extraordinary results”.

For over 60 years the Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH) has a legacy of saving livesby diagnosing and treating trauma, illness and pain. As a donor to the TMH Foundation, you too share this belief that TMH plays a critical role in delivering excellent health care to the residents in your region, both now and in the future.

When wills are created, we forgetto leave something for ourfavorite charitiesthat we donate to each year. TMHF is encouraging their donors to consider making a gift in their will for a specific amount to their favorite charity or, alternatively, a percentage of their estate. As long as you retain capacity to make a Will, you can amend your Will to change or remove the bequest at any time. It is important to remember that gifts of all sizes can make a difference. Only 42% of the population have Wills, and only 9% have made provisions for their favorite charities.

The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation inspires to help us achieve sustainable healthcare excellence for our community.
