CRESCOPARK

FACILITIES

CrescoPark is 5ha of bushland adjoining the WarrandyteRiver at Pound Bend, Warrandyte. It is the campsite of the Boroondara Scouts; owned by The Scout Association of Australia, Victorian Branch and managed by the Cresco Campsite Committee.

The Cresco Campsite Committee is a small group of volunteers. Interested youth or adult members of the Scout Association are invited to join them in their work with the campsite. Any assistance is welcomed.

FACILITIES

The John Pennington Shelter

Located at the centre of CrescoPark, the John Pennington Shelter includes:

  • large open area with built in bench seating and a large open fireplace
  • a food preparation bench and sink
  • male/disabled and female toilets (no showers)
  • tank water suitable for drinking
  • mains supply power and lighting
  • a lockable cupboard with electric urn, brooms, hoses, fire extinguisher, handles for the tap over the sink and campers tap outside the male toilet, buckets, BBQ (but no gas bottle), and consumables
  • consumables provided include toilet paper, soap, detergent, dish cloths, garbags.
The Bunkhouse

Located at the entrance of CrescoPark our newly renovated bunkhouse includes:

  • three double bunks with spring mattresses (linen, blankets and pillows are not supplied)
  • kitchenette comprising – sink, bench, shelving, fridge, microwave, toaster, cutlery and crockery for six (no tea-towels)
  • small carpeted multi-use area with table, bench seats, lounge and electric fan heater
  • mains supply power and lighting
  • tank water suitable for drinking
  • consumables – including detergent, mops, dishcloths, paper towels, garbags
  • vacuum cleaner, broom.
  • fire extinguisher
  • BBQ with gas bottle.
Campsites
  • Approximately 12 campsites in all, in two main areas.
  • Campsites adjoining the 1st turntable – especially suitable for patrol or troop camping or for cubs under canvas. Is close to the toilets. Tank water from tap outside the male toilets. Open fires only permitted in the supplied fire drums.
  • Campsites adjoining the lower turntable – especially suitable for troop camping or those undertaking water activities. Tank water from tap outside the water activities centre.
Water Activities Centre
  • Six 2-man Canadian canoes
  • Four single kayaks
  • Canoe trailer (and trolley)
  • Gear to make three rafts – pioneering poles, lashing ropes and drums
  • Life jackets, paddles and helmets
  • Lifelines
  • Tank water suitable for drinking and for boat wash down.
