THE JEREMIAH PROGRAM JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Program Assistant, Intern (Intern from St. Joseph Worker Program)

Report To: Admissions Coordinator

Scheduling: Average 36 hours/week

Job Summary: Provide key support to the pre-admission and Empowerment training programming which reflects the Jeremiah mission and encompasses the values, vision and purpose of the program. Responsibilities include: working with Admissions Coordinator and other key staff to help oversee the pre-admissions process for prospective students, collaborating with the volunteer Empowerment Facilitators, managing the database program (Apricot) to ensure all outcome related data is captured while in residency and beyond, partnering with colleges, universities and other organizations and agencies related to program requirements and sources for referrals.

A.  Direct Services 70 % Weight

1.  Coordinate screening of applications received, follow up with program information requests, callbacks, initial intake meetings and one-on-one meetings to help with resources/referrals.

2.  Interview prospective applicants and complete initial intakes to determine fit and readiness with Jeremiah’s mission.

3.  Coordinate applicant use of the Minnesota Career Inventory System (MCIS) and oversee completion of student assessment.

4.  Provide and promote confidentiality at all times.

5.  Maintain efficient, confidential and organized applicant files.

6.  Track all relevant applicant/pre-admissions data needed for reporting purposes.

7.  Maintain accurate pre-admissions data in Apricot – Jeremiah Program’s client data management system.

8.  Collaborate with Family Services, Child Development Center and Property Solutions to ensure seamless transition into residency for Jeremiah families as needed.

9.  Collaborate with Family Services to provide continuity of service and coaching to applicants when applicable.

10.  Participate in partnership meetings and trainings such as Coordinated Access to Housing and Shelter in Ramsey County or any other relevant partner organizations.

B.  Program Development 10% Weight

1.  Help coordinate applicant orientation event, which proceeds Empowerment.

2.  Help coordinate outreach and recruitment efforts – serve as a representative in the community at resource fairs, info sessions etc.

C.  Program Support 15% Weight

1.  Participate in staff meetings by providing input to ensure quality programming and service delivery and assist in special projects.

2.  As collaborative member of the Program Team, assist with planning and participate in events such as Graduation, SHERO, Resident and Alumnae events.

3.  Help coordinate donation drives and maintain inventory of in-kind donation items.

4.  Maintain professional conduct at all times and contribute to the inclusiveness and safe learning environment of Jeremiah Program in conjunction with the mission.

5.  Provide evening programming support, possibly flexing time on some Tuesdays to work 12pm -8pm.

D.  Other duties as assigned 5% Weight

1.  Work with all staff to provide organization wide support, ensuring continuity of program operations and create a culture of positivity and performance among Team & families.
