High School Senior Division Tertiary Scholarship 2013

We are pleased to announce thatthe High School Senior Division Tertiary Scholarship 2013will be offered to the First Prize winner of the High School Senior Division atthe 44th Annual Japanese Language Speech Contest - Victorian State Final 2013, which will be held on Sunday 1 September at Swinburne University of Technology.

The scholarship, inaugurated in 2011, is worth AUD $500.

It aims to encourage the winner to continue to study the Japanese language at a tertiary institution in Victoria.

To claim the scholarship the winner must not only agree to pursue Japanese language studies at a tertiary institution in Victoria but must also produce evidence that she/he has actually enrolled in Japanese language classes in a tertiary institution in Victoria. Such evidence will be provided by a transcript from the institution.

Terms and Conditions

1.By entering this contest, contestants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2.Contestants are also bound by the general rules in the Contest Guide 2013 as published on the website of the Consulate-General of Japan, Melbourne.

3.The High School Senior Division Tertiary Scholarship 2013 (the scholarship) worth AUD$500 will be offered by JLSCV, Inc. to the winner of the High School Senior Division Contest (the contest) of the 44th Annual Japanese Language Speech Contest – Victorian State Final 2013, with the aim of encouraging the winner to continue to study Japanese at a tertiary institution in Victoria.

4.The winner of the contest (the winner) is eligible to claim the scholarship.

5.If the winner cannot comply with these Terms and Conditions, she/he must forfeit the prize and JLSCV, Inc. reserves the right to offer the scholarship to the runner up with no compensation payable to the winner.

6.To become the recipient of the scholarship (the recipient) the winner must not only agree to continue to study the Japanese language at a tertiary institution in Victoria but must also produce evidence that she/he has actually enrolled in Japanese language classes in a tertiary institution in Victoria. Such evidence will be provided by a transcript from the institution.

6.1a.If the winner is a Year 12 student, she/he must make sure such evidence is received by JLSCV, Inc. by 30th June 2014. The scholarship may not be available after that date.

6.1b.If the winner is a Year 11 student, she/he must make sure such evidence is received by JLSCV, Inc. by 30th June 2015. The scholarship may not be available after that date.

7.The winner/recipient must agree that no disputes of any kind on any matter regarding the scholarship and its associated conditions, will be undertaken by JLSCV, Inc.

8.The winner/recipient may not transfer the prize (i.e. the scholarship) to another person. No prize substitution or changes are allowed.

9.JLSCV, Inc. reserves the right to withdraw or alter the value of the scholarship at any time without any explanation or compensation.

10.JLSCV, Inc. reserves the right to alter any part of these Terms and Conditions at any time without any explanation or compensation.

11.Only one scholarship can be won by any one person. If the winner of last year’s contest wins the contest again this year, this year’s scholarship will be offered to the runner up with no compensation payable to the winner.
