The International Conference onHuman Trafficking/Trade in Buddhist Perspective:
Ethical Problems and Solutions according to the Buddhist Teachings
At The Suan Dusit Place, Bangkok, and
Buddhamonthon Nakhon Pathom,Thailand
15 – 17 July 2016
------
Human trafficking or human trade is one of the World’s serious problems. It is unacceptable both socially and religiously. All civilized societies of the world today consider human trade the expression of brutality and hostility toward the human race. In the Buddhist teachings, human trade is one of the five trading jobs prohibited by the Buddha. The other four are trade in weapons (sattha-vaõijjā), animal (for being killed) (maiÿsa- vaõijjā), spirits or drugs (majja- vaõijjā) and poison (visa- vaõijjā). These jobs of trade not only harm other world beings and weaken human societies but also destroy human values and world peace. In order to secure the Buddhist knowledge and practices as propagated in the Buddhist teachings, all problems of human trafficking / trade should be discussed in detail and some proper solutions should be presented for the good of the present world.
Objective
- To consider the problems of human trafficking/trade according to the Buddhist ethics and practices.
- To find the best and possible solutions of human trafficking/trade in order to promote peaceful happiness of ASEAN and the entire world.
- To encourage unity and cooperation among scholars for the implementation of Buddhist ethics and practices in daily lives.
