CNN – Breaking Headline!

The Puti’Ekam shrine south of the city Erehwon in middle Asia has long baffled scholars as to its purpose and usage. The shrine was in operation for nearly 5000 years but has been abandoned for over 1000 years. A recent discovery has led archeologists to wonder whether they can discover some of reasons that so many patrons visited the shrine for so many years.

A cave near the shrine found 2000 tablets that appear to be a record keeping of the number of visits to the shrine each year. Unfortunately the tablets were mixed together, and some were broken beyond recognition, so there is no way to know what year each tablet corresponded to.

The information found on the tablet shows for each year:

Shrine: Believed to be the number of visitors to the shrine

Rain: The amount of rainfall (units are unknown)

Crop: The crop yield (what was grown is unknown)

Children: The number of children born that year (area included in the study is unknown)

Deaths: The number of deaths that year (assumed to be same area as children)

City Size: The size of Erehwon, the most nearby city. Due to a number of catastrophes and wars

this cannot be used to put the tablets in chronological order.

Wonders: This variable is completely unknown, except for the translation of the word “wonder”

Chief: Each tablet is marked with the word “Chief” or “Chieftess”. It is known the Erehwon was

ruled by both genders and the ruler changed quite frequently.

Due to a bizarre mixture of nepotism, timing, and secrecy you have access to the data before anyone else, and a chance to write an article on it. See what you can discover.
