On behalf of the Indian Philosophical Congress, we extend you the most cordial invitation to attend its 86th Session, which will be held at Annamalai University, Annamalainagar 608002 (Tamil Nadu) from 16-19 December 2011. Dr A K Chatterjee, Retd Prof, Dept of Philosophy & Religion, BHU is the General President of this session.

The Vice Chancellors/Directors are requested to nominate delegates from their Universities/Institutes to attend the 86th Session of the Congress. The heads of the Departments of Philosophy and the Members of the Indian Philosophical Congress are requested to disseminate this information within their institutions and academic circles.

IPC Membership Fees

Three categories of membership fees of the IPC are as follows:

Life Membership: Rs 1800/-

Ordinary Membership: Rs 300/-(annual)

Associate Membership: Rs 150/-(annual for students)

All persons (excluding Life members) attending the Congress are required to pay the membership fee of the IPC. The fee may be paid along with the registration fee of the 86th Session.

Submission of Papers

30-Sept-2011 is the last date for submission of abstracts of 500 words along with papers of not more than 1500 words (4 pages, double spaced). Paper writers are requested to furnish proof of their membership of IPC while submitting papers in both soft & hard copies to: Dr (Mrs) Subashini R Gandhi, Local Secretary, IPC, Prof & Head, Dept of Philosophy, Annamalainagar (Tamil Nadu)- 608002, India. Essay Competitions

Students wishing to participate in the essay competitions are required to send their typed essays in two copies duly forwarded by the Head of their Institutes along with summaries in 200 words and proof of membership of IPC on any of the following topics to: Prof D Nesy, Dept of Philosophy, University of Kerala, Trivandrum 695581 by 30-Sep-2011

Essay Topic: Practical Vedanta

The Departments of Philosophy of Universities, Institutes and Colleges may send their nominations, along with the biodata of the nominees for the National Award. Authors may send 3 copies of their books for the Book Award. Students wishing to participate in the essay competition should send their essays in two copies along with summaries in 200 words & proof of membership of IPC.

Nominations, books, and essays for the above, must reach Prof. D A Gangadhar, Department of Philosophy and Religion, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (UP) 221005 before 30-Sept-2011.

Registration

The registration fee for the 86th session is as follows: Regular: Rs 2200/-

Senior citizen: Rs 1700/-

Student: Rs 1400/-

(please add IPC membership fee as noted above). The combined fees are to be paid by crossed DD in favor of “Registrar, Annamalai University” payable at Annamalainagar, Tamil Nadu. Life members should include proof of membership.
