The Independent Lodging Industry Association Appoints New Officers and Directors
Sacramento, CA April 9, 2015 – The Independent Lodging Industry Association (ILIA), which promotes, protects and advances the interests of independent hoteliers, has named Pamela Barnhill, founder and president of IBC Hotels and COO and president of InnSuites Hotels, as its new President of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Barnhill’s appointment comes after a review process and search to lead the association’s more than 5,000 member hotels and management teams.
“On behalf of ILIA, I am pleased to see that Pamela Barnhill was unanimously approved to serve as the President of the Board of Directors,” said Bobbie Singh-Allen, Executive Director and Founding Member of ILIA. “Pamela is a strong advocate for the independent lodging industry as an owner and operator of independent hotels nationwide. She has helped grow the association over the last few years.”
The appointment comes as ILIA continues to strengthen its offerings, with broadened top line and bottom line benefits through strategic partnerships, an annual conference in March 2016 in Tucson, Arizona and expanded resources for its member hotels.
“Having served ILIA from within, I’m fully aware of its efforts to date to truly advance the industry as a whole and I look forward to leading the organization in pursuit of this ultimate goal,” said Barnhill. “The association’s mission is clear and the path before me is incredibly exciting.”
The Board of Directors also approved the following officers: John Manderfeld, Past President. Manderfeld is President of Marin Management, Inc in California. Raj Dhillon, Vice President. Dhillon is Owner of Dhillon Hotels in Montana and North Dakota. Jeff Durham, Treasurer. Durham owns The Redwood Fortuna Riverwalk Hotel in CA. Sima Patel, Secretary. Patel Owns Hotel Vue in Silicon Valley.
New board members joining include: KC Cook, Director of Business Development for Magnuson Worldwide from Spokane Washington; Jason McKee, President of INNJOY Travel from Senibel Florida, and Nancy Day, General Manager of Hotel Trinity in Dallas Texas.
Returning board members include: Steve Post, President of Amber Hotel Company; Stuart Paisano, Tribal Councilmember and Governor of Sandia Resort in New Mexico, and Aaron Faust, Managing Partner of Third Leaf Partners based in San Francisco.
