- Professional Development:Explain why you want to be a Resident Assistant and the personal characteristics/values you possess that make you qualified to serve in the RA role.
- Connections: Describe how you would build community on a floor that was previously served by a departing RA. What steps would you take to connect to residents, as well as connect residents to each other?
- Learning: CSU is a place where learning occurs in both an academic and co-curricular context (both in and outside of the classroom). How would you facilitate learning (academic, personal, professional, etc.) for residents on your floor/in your hall?
- Diversity and Social Justice: What do you perceived to be current diversity-related issues facing CSU students today? How may you address those issues in the RA position?
- Leadership Development: Describe extracurricular activities, classes, leadership experiences and/or volunteer work in which you have been involved. Include any leadership positions you have held in clubs, organizations or any honors or awards you have received. Discuss how these experiences will contribute to your success as a resident assistant. (Please limit your examples to three.)

Required Training Dates: Attending all orientation and training dates are mandatory and will not be excused unless clearance has been given by the Director or Assistant Director of Residence Life. Not being available for student staff training dates could impact your application and selection as a RA for the 2015-2016 school year, including: August 1 – August 20th, 2015 for training and opening (dates are tentative).
