Proposed Registration Fee and Revenue Share Structures for 2017-2018program year
Staff are proposing an $30 increase in the base registration fee for the primary student to $225. This would be announced at the Training Institute in August 2016 and implemented in September 2017 for the 2017-2018 program year. The other registration fees are adjusted accordingly based on this primary student rate.
The increase of $30 would be split evenly between HOBY International and the sites. At 10,000 paid students to year, this will generate an additional $150,000 for HOBY International and $150,000 for the sites. This will allow HOBY International to support the strategic plan and a consistent expected student growth by providing additional Leadership Seminar student recruitment support and technical assistance to the sites.
In addition, the average rate of inflation has been approximately 2% annually since 2013. Calculating a simple inflation rate adjustment for the base registration fee would make the registration fee $211 for the primary student for the 2017-2018 program year. Assuming that the registration fee rate would hold for 3 years and continuing with an average inflation rate of 2% annually brings the registration fee to $224 for the 2020-2021 program year.
Sites will earn revenue share based on their total paid registrations, with the following incentive deadlines for the 2017-2018 program year:
- April Seminars: March 16, 2018
