THE HUEYTOWN SADDLE TRAMPS, INCORPORATED

ARTICLE I

NAME

The name of this organization shall be “The Hueytown Saddle Tramps, Incorporated.”

ARTICLE II

The object and purpose of this organization is to establish and provide the following:

(1)To promote interest in horses and horsemanship among people in Jefferson county.

(2)To maintain such facilities as may be suitable and proper for the training of horses and riders.

(3)To maintain housing and grounds for social, sports, recreational, and business meetings of the membership individually or generally.

(4)To promote understanding and the proper care of horses.

(5)To promote and develop good fellowship among the horse lovers in this community and surrounding areas.

(6)To promote the horse showing in our area for different breeds and different disciplines within breeds such as: halter, western and English pleasure, gaited and timed events.

ARTICLE III

MEMBERSHIP AND DUES

The membership of this organization shall not be limited except as to types of membership. There shall be two types of memberships, family and individual. Family membership will include husband and wife and children under 18 years of age. A person over age 18 will join as an individual member. Family membership dues shall be $50.00 per year and individual membership shall be $30.00 per year, both for what is to be considered a working membership. Non-working memberships shall be $75.00 per year for an individual membership and $100.00 per year for a family membership. Dues per year will be from January to December of each year.

The membership form will be signed by the responsible family member and each family member listed on the form. The individual form shall be the same with the exception of listing of family members. The board has the authority to reject an application based on prior problems. The board also has the authority to take away a membership due to rule infractions.

Arena keys will be issued to members by the board when the dues are paid. If memberships either not renewed or discontinued for any reason, the keys should be returned to a board member. NO ONE IS TO MAKE COPIES OF THE KEYS TO GIVE OUT TO OTHERS. This is an infraction of the rules and the person who does this will forfeit his membership.

ARTICLE IV

OFFICERS AND ELECTIONS

The officers shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

At the meeting following the last Association show, there will be nominations for the officers for the next year and a vote taken to elect those officers.

Newly elected officers will take office in January upon being elected.

The president and board of directors must have been a member for a minimum of one year prior to their assuming office, and must have attended 80% of the meetings the prior year to be eligible to serve on the board. Exceptions can be made by the board of directors at any time and for any reason.

Election shall be voted on at the meeting held at the end of the Association show season. Vacancies in office shall be filled by election of the general membership at the meeting after such a vacancy occurs. It shall be the duty of the board of directors to submit a name at that time, but there shall also be nominations from the floor. Immediately upon a vacancy occurring, the President may make a temporary appointment to serve until the new offices is duly elected and installed.

The President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected each year.

The privilege of holding office, making motions, debating and voting shall be limited to active members of the organization.

ARTICLE V

DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 1 the president shall preside at all meetings of the organization and all the Board of directors meetings shall be member ex officio of all standing committees and shall appoint special committees.

Section 2 The Vice-President shall assumer all duties of the President in his absence

Section 3 The recording secretary shall keep a correct record of all meetings of the organization and the board of directors meetings. The Secretary shall attend all correspondence of the club. The recording secretary shall be the recording secretary at all organization horse shows. Keep up with the points of the organization and to turn those points into the appropriate office within the organization in which they a member of

Section 4 The treasurer shall receive all the monies of the organization and deposit same in the club account. The treasurer shall keep an accurate and complete record and shall pay our funds only in such a manner as approved by the membership of the organization. The treasurer’s book shall be audited as deemed necessary by the board of directors by auditing committees composed of not less than three persons selected by the board of directors. The treasurer shall be the treasurer at all organizations horse shows.

Section 5 The Board of Directors shall formulate policies and submit their policies to the general membership for ratification or rejection. All requests for payment of money shall be submitted to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall be the Trustees of all property of the organization.

ARTICLE VI

MEETINGS

Regular meeting of this organization shall be held at the Hueytown Saddle Tramps clubhouse. Meetings shall be called by the president.

The board of directors shall meet as necessary and when called by the President.

ARTICLE VII

STANDING COMMITTEES

The president shall appoint committees as needed. One current standing committee, the Hueytown Youth Division, will have the director appointed by the President and his board of directors each year.

The mailing address of the organization shall be Post Office Box 3004, Hueytown, Al 35023

ARTICLE IX

RINK AND GROUNDS

Leasing of the rink shall be under the supervision of the board of directors.

The Hueytown Saddle Tramps, Inc. shall not be mentioned on any program in connection with any other show other than one sponsored by the Hueytown Saddle Tramps, Inc

The board of directors must approve all contracts of leasing the property of the organization.

ARTICLE X

PARLIMENTARY PROCEDURE

Robert’s Rules of Order (revised) shall be the rule and guide of the parliamentary procedure.

ARTICLE XI

AMENDMENTS

The amendments may be revised, increased, or decreased upon a majority vote of those members present at a regular or special meeting, after the change has been brought to the floor at a regular or special meeting and after all members have had five (5) days notice.
