Hi everyone,

The Holiday Fest meet begins tomorrow afternoon with the distance events. Both the Age group and the Senior warm-ups begin at 4:00 p.m. with a meet start of 5:00 p.m. They will be alternating girls and boys heats and swimming fastest to slowest for the 500 frees & 1,650 free.

Courtney has posted important information on the event page. Please read it. They will be moving some swims from the Senior pool to the age group pool and visa versa to balance time lines.

SAC Shirts – Thursday – any SAC shirt, Friday – Blue, Saturday – Gold, Sunday – any SAC shirt

This is a closed deck meet and parents are not allowed on the deck. The only way you can get on the deck is to volunteer to time.

SAC must provide timers at this meet. We have been assigned lanes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In order to time, you must go on deck and sign in to receive a wristband. We are responsible for the following lanes:

Age group end – Lane 5

Senior end – Lanes 5 & 6

Morning Warm-ups and start times: (13-14 girls swim on senior end all days)

Age group – 7:30 a.m. warm-up – 8:30 start

Senior end – 8:00 a.m. warm-up – 9:00 start

Finals sessions for all swimmers:

Friday and Saturday begin with a 4:00 warm-up, 5:00 start

Sunday finals begin with a 3:00 warm-up, 4:00 start

You must positive check in by 9:00 a.m. each day for distant events. Please let your coach know if they need to check you in for a distant event. My cell phone number is 602-705-8149.

All 13 & 14 girl events will swim in the Senior Pool for all sessions.

Courtney has posted a time line onto our event file. Some of you are not swimming in the first event of the morning sessions. You can come on your own to do a meet warm-up. You should arrive to the pool 75 to 90 minutes before you race to give yourself ample time to warm-up. You will be doing a meet warm-up on your own if you decide to come later.

The top 16 swimmers will swim in finals each evening. The Senior and AZ age-group scratch rule will be enforced for all swimmers. Swimmers must indicate their intention to scratch 30 minutes after results have been announced. Please do not leave the pool until you hear your event announced after scratches. All age group swimmers, who fail to compete in a Championships race are barred and disqualified from the rest of the evenings events and their first event the next day. Senior swimmers that are seeded in a Finals event and do not swim are barred from further competition for the remainder of the swimming meet.

SAC is not going to do any relays at this meet. This is a very big meet. We want you to go home to get rest after you are done racing each day.

Please make sure you give yourself time to get down onto the deck for your race. We will have coaches on both ends of the pool. It is important to check in before and after your races. Also, please wear your SAC cap when you are racing.

Keep track of your personal things. Parkas, shoes, suits.

This should be a great meet for all of you. If you have any questions, please write your coach or ask them tonight at workout.

GO SAC!

Coach Maryanne
