A RESOLUTION honoring Jolene Culpepper for her tireless and steadfast efforts to assist military service members and their families.

WHEREAS, after 20 years of service, Jolene Culpepper retired from the United States Army as a First Sergeant, but she felt a calling to continue to help Army soldiers and their families, and in 2003 she began working as the Fort Knox Retirement Services Officer; and

WHEREAS, as the Fort Knox Retirement Services Officer, Jolene Culpepper, wears many hats and provides invaluable support and assistance to service members and their families; and

WHEREAS, Jolene Culpepper efficiently and compassionately guides wounded soldiers through the process of disability compensation, medical entitlements, and rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, in an effort to comfort and assist Army spouses who suddenly find themselves widowed as a result of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, Jolene Culpepper goes above and beyond her job duties to not only help them claim entitlements, but she also counsels them as they adjust to their new responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, Jolene Culpepper flawlessly supervises the entire retirement services program for soldiers who have completed their military careers. She also oversees the survivor benefit program for family members; and

WHEREAS, the Commanding Generals Retiree Council and the annual Retiree Appreciation Days are both multistate programs that Jolene Culpepper meticulously supervises. Both programs encompass the five-state area of Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, there are few people who have shown as much dedication to their job and passion for helping service members and their families as Jolene Culpepper;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The Senate hereby expresses its deepest appreciation for the tireless and steadfast efforts of Jolene Culpepper to support and assist military service members and their families.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Jolene Culpepper.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to send a copy of this Resolution to Senator Dennis Parrett, Annex Room 255.
