5th grade
Provide guidance in creating a Newsletter about each student importing pictures and citing their source of information. .
Help students identify resources and clarify summarizations / 5th grade M,T, Th & F will
Open a word doc. Add title, header and footer, import picture. Save doc in a personal folder. Type 5 paragraphs detailing what they know about frogs.using web created several weeks ago.
4th grade have students use English sumdog.
Review library procedures
Promote new and interesting books / Students will:
1)Participate in the discussion
2)Explain what they Learned about frogs using technology to produce report
3)Draw their own frog chart and find facts on: where frogs live, what they eat, who eats frogs, what they have (characteristics), why we care.
check out books that:
  1. Meet their information need

Teacher will monitor book selection for reading level /
  1. Find books at their level
  2. Choose books they like

5th grade
Will demonstrate how to pull information from websites to create a paper. / Willdemonstrate using information from websites to write a paper
T. willmonitor student progress. Will guide students with clarifying questions. / will be able to identify how to use website tools most effectively

/ Pick up 3rd graders outside cafeteria doors. Bring in through front doors.
Have students put books into book drop.

/ Purpose of lesson listed above but also working to teach students to cite information directly from source
  1. Due to testing computer lab has been closed
  2. Hand out frog papers to students
  3. Teach them to open a Word document and type up their notes answering the 5 questions from their web paper. Make sure everyone save their work. We will use this work to copy and paste information into a flyer.

Collect books and have 2 or 3 students deliver them to the classroom.
Walk the rest of the students out to recess.

Walk out to the bus together.
3:15 / Walk students outside / Monday duty day Stand at Basketball court after school. Take the walkers outside some will peel off to wait for siblings at the flag pole others will go to bus or crosswalk.
