A special thank you to the many Toll families who attended Back to School Night last Thursday. The evening was a snapshot of your students’ typical day at Toll, and overall a great success. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to get a glimpse of the 2016-2017 school year.

This week’s big news is that the floor of the gymnasium is finally complete. During the repair and restoration efforts, our PTA teamed with GUSD to add a spectacular logo on center court. The space will be used immediately with some events scheduled for this week.

Students from our ASB will be visiting classrooms during Period 3 this week to share details of the first school dance of the 2016-2017 school year. The dance will be held on Thursday after school in Toll’s gymnasium.

The dance is also a kick-off to our first core competition of the school year. While admission is free with an ASB card, alternatively students may bring a ream of copy paper for admission. We will be collecting paper the rest of the month and hope to collect enough paper for the rest of the semester. Again, stay tuned for additional details starting tomorrow when the ASB students visit third period classrooms.

Tryouts for the Titans’ basketball teams begin this week. Announcements for the girls’ team have been running since the start of school. Please contact Coach Doolittle for questions concerning their schedule. The boys’ team will host its initial tryout this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the gym. Please welcome our new boys’ coach, Tim Dearn, who will be coaching the boys’ squad this year. Coach Dearn has more than 15 years of coaching experience in youth and high school sports. The first game of the season is less than a month away

Information concerning the Toll Foundation and Annual Toll Fund is going out in students’ homerooms. We ask that you take the time to review this information. The Foundation helps support our nine cores, many electives, our extra curricular activities and all of the fantastic opportunities for students happening at Toll. All donations, large or small, are appreciated. Please consider making a contribution to our efforts for 2016-2017.
