ROLE AND CONTEXT
Job Purpose / To provide a high standard of secretarial, IT and administrative eservices to the school, its teachers and pupils and, by working flexibly with other administrative staff, ensure duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.

To assist with the courteous reception of visitors and the receipt of calls to the school
To undertake administrative and secretarial duties which include:
a) Checking, selling and maintaining office supplies and other stock levels,
b) School meal numbersdaily and reconciliation
c) Liaison with the school kitchen daily
d) Counting money collections
e) Banking duties
f)School meals paperwork
g)Admissions to the school
h)Checking pupils’ attendance
i)Producing attendance awards
j)Compiling staff equipment orders
k)Maintaining up to date asthma records
l)Maintaining the school’s database for daily attendance records/generating reports as required by school leaders
m)Administration of after school clubs
To open and distribute incoming mail/open and deal with email; dispatch outgoing mail and assist with postal arrangements
To assist in the maintenance and development of database records for the school including the Single Central Record
To undertake word processing duties as may be required to meet the needs of the school.
Where appropriate, to undertake secretarial duties of a confidential nature for the Headteacher, including maintaining diaries.
To maintain an efficient filing system and undertake reprographic tasks, including routine maintenance of the photocopier
To share the school’s duty of care for safeguarding the welfare of every child
To undertake any other duties thatare within the scope of the post, as determined by the Executive Headteacher.

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications / GCSE or equivalent grade C or above in English/ Maths / Experience of working with money
Experience / Secretarial and administrative work. / Similar role in a school
Skills/Knowledge / Pays attention to detail
Is proficient in the use of ICT
Is highly organised, efficient and hardworking
Is able to work constructively as part of a team and use their own initiative
Is reliable and trustworthy
Is flexible, adaptable and able to work calmly under pressure
Has an exemplary attendance record
Can prioritise work effectively and always think ahead
Ability to identify own training and development needs and co-operate with means to address these. / Database experience
Knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation in education.
