St Mary’s Christingle–

The sum collected at the Lamberhurst Christingle Service was £453. 08 and a cheque for this amount has been sent to the Children’s Society.

Lamberhurst Music Festival

The first concert of 2018 ‘Four Hands, One Piano’ is on Friday 26th January at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church Lamberhurst.

Emma Abbate and Julian Perkins have played together at a variety of venues around the UK, including the now closed Finchcocks Museum.

Emma is a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and a coach for the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Julian read music at King’s College, Cambridge, and is currently the artistic director of the Cambridge Handel Opera and the founder director of ‘Sounds Baroque’.

Matfield Christmas Fayre

The Christmas Fayre held at the beginning of December raised £1,225 for St Luke’s. A huge thanks to Lindsey Watts and her willing team of helpers who made lots of beautiful wreaths and made it such a lovely occasion.

Annual Thanksgiving Services

There will be special Services giving thanks for the departed at St Luke’s on 4th February and at St Mary’s on 18th February, both starting at 3.30pm. Recently bereaved families will be contacted but all are welcome to attend.

We pray for the Church

For the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia; The Most Revd Winston Halapua and The Most Revd Philip Richardson. [Anglican Cycle of Prayer].

For the spirit of generosity as we celebrate the arrival of the three kings.

For all refugees, especially children.

For our Armed Services serving abroad.

For all affected by Storm Eleanor last week.

For all who have lost their lives through violence.

We pray for our Parishes

For Charlie as he is baptised this morning, for his parents and godparents.

For Godfrey and Jill, married at St Mary’s yesterday.

For our schools, for the head teachers, staff, governors and pupils.

For the elderly and housebound, that we should all be good neighbours.

For all homes in our parishes, and for family life.

For the people of Maidstone Road, Matfield, and of Furnace Avenue and Funace Lane, Lamberhurst; and in our Deanery for the people of Paddock Wood.[Parish Cycle of Prayer].

We pray for the sick

Especially forSheila Baker and Ann Baker, for their families and all who care for them.

For those in hospital and all with long standing illnesses, especially members of our church family who are unable to worship with us.

We pray for those who have died

Especially for James Crisp,and for all who mourn.

Redemptorist Publications have formed a new partnership with St Johns Guild, Christians Supporting People with Sight Loss, who are funding the printing of large print reading sheets. We will only have a small number of these available each week and if you would like a copy please ask a sidesman.
