Famous Music and Dance Artist Visits Local High School

Every high school student loves music and fashion. Lady Gaga performed at Marshall McLuhan Catholic High School last Friday, November 19, 2011. This famous music and dance artist was there to perform and to raise poverty awareness. She spoke to the students about the things they can do to help end poverty in Toronto.

“Students can make a difference in ending poverty,” said Lady Gaga at the end of her inspirational speech. The high school students were excited to have Lady Gaga in their school. “It was so overwhelming to see one of my idols actually in my school,” said Mary Santos, a Grade 10 McLuhan student, after the concert and speech.

Lady Gaga was also happy that the students received her message so well. “It’s great to see the kids getting involved in ending poverty,” said Dr. Mio, vice principal at McLuhan who was also excited to see the students so motivated. “I think that it helps when the students recognize a speaker like Lady Gaga,” he said.

Music is a good medium because students enjoy it and will pay attention to the message.
