Please phone this number re-weather up date for rallies

Hi

Remember camp forms have to be in by the 1st June, you will then be sent all the information etc regarding camp.

Interbranch training will be starting on Wednesday 2nd June at the Kinnord Field, 6.30- 8pm for all of you that have showed an interest. If you need answers to any questions, call Lynn, Sue or myself.

Please fill in slip at end of rally to indicate which wed evenings you hope to come to, cost will be £10 per evening session. No money no lesson!

For those of you that have wondered what Interbranch is, it is a competition between Pony Club Branches in Area1 (23 in all). There’s Dressage, Showjumping (starts at 90cms), Eventing (starts at 90cms) and Triathlon (running, shooting, swimming and cross country riding -starts around 60cms)

Area1 also runs competitions at a lower level; there is Team Combined Training and Team Grass Roots (turnout, easy team dressage test and a handy pony course). Will let you have more details as I get them.

There is also games at Area Level, which was held last weekend, we had junior and senior team entered, well done to them both as the juniors came 2nd and the seniors finished 13th out of 16 teams. I think they had a good time, well done to Helen for organising them, and thanks to all the people who helped with there training.

We are putting on extra evening rallies, please send your slips back for these so that we can organise instructors. We shall also be selling cakes at all the rallies to raise funds, so if you can bake something to take along to sell that would be great, but if you don’t bake it will be a chance to buy some home produced cakes!

Remember to take your membership cards along to the rallies for signing.

Joan Watt has organised a one day First Aid Course on 26th June 9-5 open to all over 13yrs, at the BurnettPark. This can be used for D of E and also 1st aid cover at our rallies. Cost to be decided depending on numbers. Please TEXT Joan on 07749755068 if you would like to attend or for more info.

We will start to draw the 250 club tickets at camp, so please send any tickets back to Lynn ASAP

AREA 1 GAMES REPORT

Hi Everyone,

A first for Deeside (well in living memory anyway)two teams competed at Area 1 games (Inter branch) on Saturdayand really represented Deeside well. I think all our members got a surprise at the standard of competition and they certainly learned a lot.

The Junior Novice team were super focussed and came a very close second to Rosshire. Well done to Findlay, Freya, Iain, Katrina and Ross.

The senior team worked well as a team and rode their socks off and came 13th out of 16 teams. We achieved our goal which was to make every race count and even came third in our heat a couple of times. Good job well done to Megan, Amelia, Aiden, Isaac and Alex. The competition was so amazing!

We had a great support team as well so thanks to Dorothy, Mhairi, Hazel and Neil Ferguson, Neil Hartley, Jill Randalls, Clare Lane, and Sharon Seaton, Sandra, Ali and Fergus Lorder.

Even in the thick of a noisy competition we could clearly hear them all shouting support.

I was also lovely the welcome we got from many other people who noted it was Deeside’s first showing for sometime. We had obviously been missed in the past.

So 'onward and upward' in preparation for next year!

If you did not make the team this year but want to be involved you must be 14 years old or under and on a pony no taller than 14.2 hh, just let me know,

Cheers

Helen…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

FUND RAISING

We need to raise funds to purchase some more show jumps and trailersto transport them on, so it has been suggested that we hold a table top sale and a car boot sale, so venues are being looked into, but suggestions are welcome as to where we can hold them. Any help organising them would be greatly appreciated too.

We are also going to sell home made cakes at various activities, mainly rallies and competitions so contributions for this would be great. You can buy as many as you like too!

We will start the draw of the 250 club at camp, so if you have any tickets please send them back preferably sold.

Various organisations are being approached regarding grants, but if you know of any to approach please do so, but keep Helen or Jane informed.

A bag packing day is going to be organised, we will let you know when and where so that you can come along and help.

Paperbacks

Isaac and Amelia will be selling 'once loved' paperback books at rallies and events. Please donate your 'read' paperbacks to the cause. All books will cost £1 and can be re-donated once read. So bring your books along and browse our stock of paperbacks.

Other ideas put forward are making of a calendar, a pony club tea towel and getting the second hand selling going again.

Any other suggestions for boosting the funds would be greatly welcome.
