TOP TALENT TO THE TEAM

The Crane Resort & Residences, renowned for its understated elegance, old-world charm and natural beauty, announces the appointment ofLlewellyn Priceto General Manager and Michael Harrison to Executive Chef of the resort.

“My first year at The Crane has been full of excitement. Celebrating our 120th year and receiving the prestigious Barbados Pillar of Tourism Industry Award makes me feel honoured to be part of such a spectacular resort,”says Price.

Price joined The Crane in 2007 after serving almost two decades as General Manager ofAuberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City, Canada. During that time, Price oversaw the refurbishment of the 18th century property, transforming it into a world-class hotel –named ‘Top Hotel in Canada’by Condé Nast Traveller’s 2007 Readers’Choice Awards –making him ideally suited to steer The Crane through its own expansive renovation. A world traveller, Price has lived in Canada, Morocco, Senegal, Kenya, France and The United States. He earned his MBA at the IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.

Joining The Crane at the start of 2008,Michael Harrison most recently served as Chef de Cuisine at the renownedSandy Lane Hotel in Barbados. He brings to The Crane almost 20 years experience in the culinary arts, including similar positions atFairmont Royal Pavilion, Barbados, Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland, Le Gavroche Restaurant, London, and White Barn Inn, Maine. Harrison has had the distinction of serving former US President, George Bush, and the late Princess Diana. Harrison lends his culinary talents to all of The Crane’s restaurants –L’Azure, Zagat-rated Zen, Carriage House Poolside Restaurant, and two new restaurants that will open with The Crane Village in late 2008.
