The Coach House Day Nursery

Spring Term News Letter

Well the start of another exciting year. We would like welcome Clare our new Forest School Leader who started with us just before Christmas. Clare is passionate about outdoor play for children, she will be taking regular Forest School Groups into the Forest on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, we will however from time to time make changes to the days and times to make sure that all the children get the chance to take part in Forest School. Clare has used one of our open barns to develop a sheltered outdoor space so on days when the rain really does come down the children have somewhere to go to do their forest craft. To keep up to date with what the children are doing and photos please visit our Face Book page, and your comments on what you are seeing would be appreciated.

Tapestry our Online Learning Journal

Tapestry our online learning journal is going well, Nuthatches were the first to use it and we have had some very positive feedback from parents. We have just purchased another tablet and we are now moving our Kingfisher, Robin and younger Woodpecker groups onto Tapestry. If you haven’t received permission form and passcode please let me know. Please add achievements and milestones from home to the journal and photos if you have them. If you need any help please do not hesitate to ask and Gemma or I will talk you through it.

What Your Child needs to bring to Nursery;

Can you please bring the following items to Nursery each time your child attend;

·  A complete change of clothes (labelled with their Name)

·  Clothing suitable for changes in temperature especially in the Spring/Summer months when it may start off cool but turn warmer later in the day

·  A warm Hat and Mittens for cold days and a Sun Hat for the Sunny days.

·  A separate bag for Wet Weather Clothes (Waterproof Suit and Wellies etc.) Not a plastic bag please for safety reasons.

·  Extra Socks and Pants (x 2 if possible)

·  Socks in the summer for Wellies if your child has come to Nursery without Socks or Tights.

Please label all items of clothing (including Shoes and Wellies) belonging to your child, to prevent items being sent home with other children.

Key Groups

If you are unsure of who your child’s Key Person is please look at the list on the wall next to the window with the first aid box on. Or you can always ask me or one of the team.

Family Photos

Thank you for your fantastic response to our request for photos, we have them displayed in each room, the children get lots of pleasure looking at them and showing them to their friends. It is still not too late you can still bring in up to six photos of people special to your child, pets etc. or alternatively you can attach them in an email to me.

Wow’s

The WoW tree is looking rather bare, please remember if you child achieves something at home write it down with their name and the date and put it on the wow tree, their Key Person will then celebrate their achievement. Achievements are anything from ‘sleeping through the night’, potty training, sharing, building a tower, counting etc.

Remember to keep looking on our Facebook page and please add comments and likes. Just one more thing, we are collecting 4pint milk plastic milk bottle containers, we need 500, I can’t tell you why as it is a surprise, but the children will love it.

Many thanks
