Brainstorm facilitated by Corey
Informed by its initial research into meal services, DoHA paper will provide a snapshot of how meal services have evolved over the years to the current models of service delivery and funding; the challenges and cost pressures facing providers; and changing client needs.
Advisory group will scope current view of meals services identifying positives and issues with current meals services.

1.30pm / Session 5:– Overview of Review Process including contractor’s role
(1 hour)
Presentation by DoHA/Contractor
  • Paper will present the review timeline and approach by the selected contractor to provide the evidence base needed and support the review of meal services. Information on the contractor’s role will include:
  • a short background on the contractor; the proposed project methodology including approach to consultations; and (contractor’s) draft stakeholder engagement plan (tabled at meeting).
Advisory group will provide feedback on approach and issues for consideration by the contractor
2:30pm / Session 6:– Consultation, engagement and literature review (1.5 hours)
Presentation by DoHA
  • Paper will request discussion of, and input to, three items:
  • Potential regional locations for national consultations – QLD, WA, VIC, TAS, SA, NSW (not ACT or NT).
  • Draft stakeholder engagement plan (tabled at meeting).
  • Literature review phase – MRWG to invite their networks to contribute any relevant reports and data (e.g. Meals on Wheels Qld client research).
