The Chichen Itza Pyramids have rusty, gray bricks on the outside of the pyramids. There is a popping out, smooth surface that runs right down the middle of the pyramids. The Top of the pyramid is not like an ordinary pyramid with a pointy top. It has a square on the top of the pyramids that looks like a chimney a little bit. The Chichen Itza pyramids are located in Mexico 75 Miles east from Merida, which is the capital of Yucatan. The Yucatan ruins cover 6 square miles.

The Mayans built a secret passage way that leads into the middle of the pyramid. The

Middle of the pyramid is very dark and narrow. In the middle of the pyramid you have to climb a stair case to get to the end of the passage way where there is a red throne sitting there. Maybe the red throne represents something for their religion or it’s probably just a red throne for their king. I would like to sit in the throne eating a snack watching T.V. I think that would be very comfy, and fun.

I interviewed Senora Caldwell about the pyramids of Chichen Itza .Senora Caldwell is my Spanish teacher at Quarton Elementary.

Did you know what you see now of the pyramids is just half of the pyramids? Why you see half is because the other parts sunk.
