A message from Father Quentin…

Obviously politics is one of the things that has come to the forefront as we approach another election.

We as Catholics see the importance of being involved in our civil societies and are rightly concerned with voting in these elections and other aspects of politics.

Archbishop Naumann has encouraged us to be involved and also to realize that our faith has an important part to play in this. He has called us to fast and pray every Tuesday as the elections draw near.

In the Scriptures we have many examples of Jesus fasting and praying and especially at important moments of His ministry.

Let us call down the Holy Spirit to guide us and our country.

May God Bless us.

Faith Minute…..

“Thanks Mom!” Few things are more

pleasing to a parent’s ear than hearing

sincere gratitude pour forth from the lips

of a child. While it probably does not happen as often as it should, it is heart-warming when it does.

In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear the familiar story of the grateful Leper who returns to give thanks to Jesus who heals him. In the busyness of our families, it is easy to overlook the importance of thanking God for his many blessings. Gratitude is the beautiful fabric that weaves the blanket of love that fills the family with joy.

Take time in prayer to reflect on the three things you are most grateful for....

• In your spouse?

• In your children?

• In your family and with your in-laws?

• In your employer?

• In your parish priest?

• In your friends?

• In yourself?

Then share your gratitude of thanksgiving in person, via phone, text, letter, etc. and also, take the time to thank God for these graces he placed in your life.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a group of lay

people that pray and serve in our

parishes. The group meets at 7pm

each Sunday evening at a local

parish. If you would like to join or

more information about this group,

please contact Father directly or

Marie Drumm 620-203-8391.

Please notify the main office if you know of anyone

that needs/or would like to be added to the nursing

or homebound lists for any of our 4 parishes.

Father has a schedule to visit with parishioners and

we don’t want to leave anyone off the list that may

need/want the Sacramental graces he can provide.

Anyone wishing to become a designated

Homebound Minister that can deliver communion,

please contact the office or notify Father Quentin

directly. Thank you.
