The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod is

Open During AprilVacation Week from 8:30am -5:30pm

The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod will be open every day during the April School Vacation for any Cape Cod child age 6 and up, and in grades 1- 8, from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm. The program at the Club is a drop-in program and there is no need to make a reservation unless the child is going on one of the field trips.

There will be staff-supervised activities all day long, including arts and crafts, sports, games, computers, video games, and other special vacation events. The Clubhouse Vacation Program is free for members and only $5 a day for non-members. Children must bring a lunch and two snacks if they are going to be at the Club all day.

In addition, the Boys & Girls Club has also planned special field trips. There is an additional charge for each of the trips and they are filled on a first come, first served basis. The Club’s trained professional staff will accompany the children on the field trips and supervise them while there. On Monday, April 15 the trip is to Lazer Gate in Fall River to play Laser Tag and the fee is $15. On Tuesday, April 16, the trip is to the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown and the National Seashore and the fee is $10. The Wednesday trip is the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where kids can see the Egyptian art, real mummies, medieval armor, and other cool stuff, and the fee is $15. The Club will be showing movies at the Club on Thursday for no extra fee, and on Friday they will be taking the kids to Ryan Family Amusement for bowling and the arcade for $12. To go on a Field Trip, children must also have a signed parental permission slip.

To spend the day at the Boys & Girls Club during the vacation week, or to go on any field trip, children must be, or become,members of the Boys & Girls Club or pay the $5 daily vacation fee, and fill out an emergency contact/registration form available on line. The membership fee is $75 for the entire school year, and includes unlimited use of the Club’s programs including in the gym, the high speed internet computer room, the arts and crafts programs, foosball, air hockey, Teen and TV room, education programs, homework help, free tutoring, character and leadership programs, and more whenever the Club is open for a child’s age group.

“This is a great time for non-members to visit the Club, enjoy the facilities and programs, and see what we are all about” said Club Executive Director, Ruth Provost. “We love visitors and are happy to show children and their families around the Club at any time.”

The Boys & Girls Club provides free after school and affordable summer programs that are open to any Cape Cod child or teen, age 6-18. The Club is open on from 2-6 most weekdays for any Cape Cod child age 6 and in grades 1-8. The teen program is open at Mashpee High from 2-6 and then moves to the Kraft Family Boys & Girls Clubhouse from 6-8 Monday to Thursday and from 6-10 on Fridays. The Club is also open from 8:30 to 5:30 on school vacation days and for a $5 fee in the morning on Mashpee and Sandwich half days, with pick up arranged in advance at the Sandwich K-8 schools, thanks to a grant from the Sandwich Kiwanis Club.
