Each year in America, nearly a million people die from cardiovascular diseases. We live in a fast-paced world with an expectation that everything be quick, easy, and perfect. Community college students may increase their risks for developing health problems because you try to do so much with so little time. This doesn’t have to be the case, however. It is possible to be a responsible adult, meet your obligations, be a good student, and be healthy.

With such unreal reality shows as Extreme Makeover, it’s easy for us to fall into the trap of thinking that any changes in our lives must also be extreme in order to be effective. However, the small things in life can add up to the biggest difference for us. And these are easier to achieve. We must remember that every journey begins with a single step. Yes, it’s a cliché, but it’s also true.
