Cell Storybook

Congratulations! You have just been hired by Cell-astic Press, where every day is a cell-ebration, to work in the children’s book department. Your first assignment is to write and illustrate a story book that explains the organelles present in a plant and animal cell. Your book should be written so that an elementary student could understand the structure and function of each organelle. Remember to be creative! You could use a mystery format, a biography, or use the format of another favorite children’s book. In addition to writing and illustrating the book, you should design the book cover, which should include the title and author/illustrator name.

The assignment will be graded on the following scale:

Illustration of animal cell (original) 5pts

Identification of animal cell features 5pts

Illustration of plant cell (original) 5pts

Identification of plant cell features 5pts

Use of seven organelles 7pts

Structure/function of each organelle 56pts (4 pts per)

Use of a story line/creativity 15pts
