Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Program Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts of original contributions to the 11th Congress of AFPMH.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: April 30, 2008

Notice of presentation acceptance: May 15, 2008

Characteristics of the paper presentations

Oral Communications

Oral Communications will be presented in 100 min sessions. The time allotted to each presenter will be 12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of discussion. Twelve papers will be selected by theScientific Program Committee from those submitted by interested individuals. Other papers will be recommended to present as poster presentations.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be presented on August 27-28, 2008. A senior author or co-author is advised to be present during poster viewing time. They will be selected by the Scientific Committee from those submitted by interested individuals. The text and illustrations should be readable from adistance of 2 meters. The poster size will be informed by July, 2008.

Poster presenters who wish to be candidates for Poster Awards must tick the checkbox of Poster Award Presentation in the Abstract Submission Form. The Awards will be granted to the presenters of at least three excellent posters.

Guidelines for Submission

·  The Paper Submission Form that has been filled in should be submitted by an author.

·  Complete the Proposal Form, ensuring that all sections are completed.

·  Authors should indicate their presentation preference:

§  poster presentation

§  oral presentation

§  poster or oral presentation (final decision made by the Scientific Program Committee)

§  poster award presentation

·  All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.

·  The Titles of the presentations should not exceed 20 words.

·  Abstract length should be in the range of 150-250 words (including 1-3 references in Vancouver style)).

·  Please structure your abstract using the following headings:

§  Objectives

§  Methods

§  Results

§  Conclusion

·  All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text before being used as an abbreviation only. Do not define or use abbreviations in the title.

·  Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included and will be deleted by the editors.

·  If an abstract is accepted, one author must attend the congress and present it in person.

·  Expenses associated with paper preparation, submission, and presentation are the responsibility of the presenters.

·  Submit the Abstract Submission Form that has been completely filled in to the Scientific Program Committee, at the email address of .

·  The deadline for abstract submissions is April 30, 2008.

·  Submitting authors will be informed regarding the presentation acceptance by May 15, 2008.
