Aging & Independence Services and County Supervisors Dianne Jacob and Pam Slater-Price are excited to announce the seventh biennial Aging Summit scheduled for Thursday, June 3, at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center. The Aging Summit has been enormously successful, featuring national speakers and thousands of participants including seniors, professionals in the fields of aging, health and social services, community volunteers, students and others.

The Aging Summit is a unique event which combines community outreach and education with opportunities for shaping future programs and initiatives. The Summit features educational speakers, exhibits, and a pre-event workgroup process resulting in recommendations to improve services for seniors. This year’s focus is technology with such subtopics as Don’t Be Timid About Technology, Beneficial Technology for Healthcare & Caregivers, So Many Gadgets: Tips & Tricks, and Beneficial Technology for Healthcare & Caregivers.

We are very pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Gary Small, Director of the UCLA Center on Aging and the Memory & Aging Research Center. Dr. Small is Professor of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and the Parlow-Solomon Professor on Aging. He is an expert in the areas of neuroscience and technology. We are also excited to feature representatives from the Gary & Mary West Wireless Health Institute, one of the world’s leading medical research organizations with a mission of increasing the use of emerging wireless technologies to advance human health and wellbeing. In addition, Bruce Pechman, the “Muscleman of Technology” will delight attendees with a light-hearted look at some of the latest gadgets.

With over 1,500 attendees expected at this year’s event, Aging Summit offers sponsors and exhibitors an excellent opportunity to introduce their organization, services, or products to a wide audience of seniors and professionals.
