ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES

Dear participants,

Welcome and Selamat Datang to Penang!

Thank you for your interest and commitment in participating in the KPICGS 2016 which will be held on the 16th – 17th November 2016. We would like to share with you some administrative information and details about the programme.

1.  Visa Requirements

Every participant entering Malaysia must possess a valid National Passport or Internationally recognised Travel Document valid for travel to Malaysia. Passports are required to be valid for at least six months from the date of travel.

For your kind information, no Visa is required for stay of less than one month for nationals of the United Kingdom and ASEAN.

2.  Conference Venue, Accommodation and How to Get to the Conference from the Airport

Accommodation

Participants are responsible for their own accommodation. Please book your accommodation directly with the relevant hotel. Please refer to conference website for a list of suggested hotel.

Transportation

Participants are responsible to arrange for their own transportation from their accommodation to the conference venue and vice versa. Please refer to the conference website for a list of taxi and bus services.

Welcome and Networking Dinner’s transportation: Please check with the conference secretariat regarding drop-off points from Equatorial Hotel to participant’s accommodation during the registration on 16th November 2016.

3.  Programme Registration

When you arrive in Penang for the programme, please complete your registration process by meeting us at the DPU lobby. Registration counter will be opened as follows:

16th November 2016 : 8.10 am- 8.45 am

All participants should register with the Conference Secretariat, sign the attendance list and please check the parallel sessions lists located at DPU lobby (signs will be provided).

4.  Meals

Tea breaks and lunch

A tea break and lunch will be provided for all participants per full day of conference.


Welcome and Networking Dinner

The organisers would like to welcome all participants to a dinner on the 16th November 2016 at the Equatorial Hotel, Penang. Dinner will begin at 8.00 p.m. Transportation from the conference hall to the dinner venue will be provided. Please gather in the DPU lobby at 6.00 pm for the departure to Equatorial Hotel.

5.  Currency

The Malaysian currency is Ringgit (RM). Participants are advised to change some currency into Ringgit upon arrival at the first port of entry in Malaysia. There are several licensed money changers in the Penang International Airport at both the arrival and departure halls and in and around hotels in the Penang Island.

Major credit cards are widely accepted throughout Malaysia. General banking hours are on Mondays to Fridays from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

6.  Climate

Penang enjoys a year-round equatorial climate which is warm and sunny, along with plentiful rainfall. Some useful information is as follows:

Relative humidity 70% - 90%

7.  Insurance and Medical Emergency

All participants are advised to take their own travel insurances from their own country. We regret that the organisers will not be able to bear travel insurance for participants. For medical emergency, kindly contact the person below for assistance.
