NOVEMBER 2016
MONARCHS: The monarch butterflies that we tagged and released in September should be arriving in Mexico in November. In Mexico there are parties to celebrate their arrival. So we plan to have a “Gotta Go to Mexico Party” here on Tuesday, November 1. We will wear butterfly wings and have an obstacle course to simulate the trip made by the monarch. We will also drink nectar sodas, play Mexican music, and make butterfly crafts. Parents are welcome to join us!
AUTUMN CELEBRATION: On Friday the 11, our morning classes will have
a special day. We plan to celebrate the autumn season with a hayride, square dancing,
and leaf fun. All this will take place during our regular preschool hours. Please dress in appropriate warm play clothes on this day. Parents who are willing to stay and help will certainly be welcome. Also, if you have any outside animals you could bring to share
with the children on that day, please see Jill.
CLASS PICTURES: Class pictures will be taken on November 2 and 3. These pictures are offered for all children who attend morning classes Individual pictures will only be taken if you have returned an order form. Order forms are in your mailbox. Please read the picture schedule below to see what day your child will have his individual picture taken. Also, note that preschool children who attend Monday through Friday will have their picture taken with a group on both days. Please see schedule below.
WEDNESDAY: M/W/F Preschoolers
All children who attend Monday through Friday
(except Mrs. Kinney’s class)
THURSDAY: All Tuesday/Thursday Preschoolers
Mrs. Kinney’s class
VOLUNTEERS: We at Evergreen would like to help our children develop an increased appreciation for the similarities and differences between themselves and people of other backgrounds and cultures. There is no better place to start than within our own Evergreen family and perhaps you could help. If you, a friend or family member would be willing to share your heritage or family traditions through music, stories, food, recipes, or pictures, etc., please contact Jill or your child’s teacher to arrange details.
THANKSGIVING: On Monday and Tuesday, the 21and 22, our morning classes will jointogether for some Thanksgiving activities to celebrate our Evergreen family. Also, on these two days, please send a canned good with your child as a donation for others who are less fortunate. We will have the children present these canned goods to the Church’s FOOD FOR FISH program.
