As part of our 25th anniversary year, Children’s Place Association is profiling 25 Individuals and Groups whose involvement has been instrumental to the growth and success of this organization. Thank You to Children’s Place Volunteers

Volunteers are a vital pillar of many charitable groups. And Children’s Place Association is no exception. From our very beginning, the hands-on generosity of volunteers have made our work possible.This organization was founded by volunteers and we have relied on volunteer support in every program and imitative we have undertaken.

When we opened our original program in 1991 – achildren’s Residential Center providing 24-hour nursing care – it was as volunteers who made the difference. Dozens of dedicated men and women stepped forward to assist our professional staff.They gave nurturing care to kids overwhelmed by life-threatening illness.

Volunteers fed babies, changedtheir diapers and rocked them to sleep. They comforted sick toddlers and soothed their crying. They sang songs and read nursery rhymes. They provided a gentle touch that calmed fears.

Today volunteers continue contributing across our organization. They help children in our early education programs learn and thrive. They help youth in our Summer Camp find emotional support and explore their world. They advocate for Children’s Place, bringing more people into our circle of friends.

Some volunteers sit on boards, bringing valuable expertise and strategic leadership. Others serve on fundraising committees, organizing special events and opening doors to new financial resources to support our work.

We have volunteers who carve pumpkins with preschoolers…chaperone campers on field trips…plant flowers at one of our buildings…and chair black-tie galas.Whether wearing work gloves or a tuxedo, it is your unwavering efforts that make our mission come to life every day.
