Thank you for your request dated 14th February 2012 regarding Domestic Violence
Please can you send information on which of the following domesticand sexual violence services including (trafficking, forced marriage, honor-based violence, forced genital mutilation and prostitution) you wholly or partly fund or commission from the PCTbudget?
If you do not currently commission these services do you have plansto in the future?
Our response is below:
The only local spend from NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wiganis relating to off street prostitution. We have a Health Improvement Officer who works one day a week with the off street sex workers to ensure they are aware of the health implications and are equipped to mitigate the risks they take. The cost to the PCT per annum inc on costs is £5639.
With reference to future plans we do not hold any information as specified as the sexual health commissioning function is in the process of being moved to the Council.
Some Officer time is taken up in meetings aimed at ensuring the efficiency of the local referral mechanisms into the Independent Sexual Violence Advocates at St Mary's but there is no local provision to which we contribute.
