Please note our policy: Querida PWDs will match a puppy with a caring and responsible family whose activity and experience levels will provide the greatest success for that puppy. Color, coat type and gender are secondary characteristics when it comes to matching a puppy with a family. Temperament of the puppy is the priority. We determine and choose the right match for you and your family based on our years of experience and intimate knowledge of the puppies we place in new homes.

Please note some of our policies:
¨ Please be aware that Querida PWDs reserves the right to refuse to provide a puppy to ANY applicant for ANY reason at ANY time.
¨ If you can no longer continue to keep the Portuguese water dog that you purchased from Querida PWDs you understand that you must return the PWD to Querida Portuguese Water Dogs, LLC.
¨ ALL of our companion puppies are sold on spay/neuter contracts with Limited AKC Registration requiring that they are not bred for any reason.
¨ ALL of our prospective show/breeding puppies are sold on co-ownership contracts.
¨ As noted above, Querida PWDs will match a puppy with a caring and responsible family whose activity and experience levels will provide the greatest success for that puppy. Temperament is the PRIMARY consideration in these decisions with color, coat type and gender being secondary characteristics when it comes to creating a match between a puppy and a family. We reserve the right to refuse placement of a puppy with a family if we feel that the temperament will not be a good fit.
¨ A copy of our sales contract including purchase price for a puppy is available for your review prior to placing a deposit for a puppy. After we have received your completed questionnaire and we have had a chance to talk on the phone and preferably meet in person, we will jointly agree if a Querida PWD puppy is right for you. If we all agree that a Querida PWD is suited for your family then we will ask for a $500.00 non-refundable deposit to place your name on our puppy list. The deposit is only refundable if Querida PWDs determines that there is not an appropriate puppy available to suit your family’s needs. If you decide for whatever reason that you would like to remove your name from our puppy list including but not limited to reasons such as the sex, color, or coat type of the matched puppy is not what you were looking for, the deposit is NON-Refundable. In addition, we require an in-person meeting and written agreement prior to a final decision in placing a puppy with ALL prospective new owners. Please be aware that Querida PWDs reserves the right to refuse to provide a puppy to ANY applicant for ANY reason at ANY time. The deposit is only refundable if Querida PWDs determines that there is not an appropriate puppy available to suit your family’s needs.
¨ All of our puppies leave our home microchipped. As part of our role as a responsible breeder, we require that our name be listed as the secondary emergency contact should the puppy ever be lost or find its way into a shelter. This helps us to keep track of the puppies that we bring into this world.
¨ When you purchase a puppy from us, you also purchase our commitment to your family, the breed as a whole, and first and foremost, the puppy itself. We want you to be happy and content with your pup AND with us, as breeders and protectors of the PWD. We expect and anticipate following all puppies through their lifetimes. All guarantees are in writing and included in our contract.
