Dear ______,

It has been a pleasure to get to know you this year, especially during those conversations when your partner in crime, ______, is a part of our three-way conversation. One always knows a man better when you see him interact with a good buddy! I love watching you two play off one another. Even when things border on the indelicate – especially when things border on the indelicate – I can feel the affection and the respect. For me, this interplay is the church; warm and joyful and knowing. As a newcomer, I feel most welcome in these moments.

It has been a great privilege to participate in the church through the Stewardship Team this year - and an even greater privilege to observe the great loyalty and love you demonstrate for MCC through your generosity. Thank you, ______, for your most recent pledge of support to our congregation. Thank you, too, for your leadership on the Board. I am so happy you have agreed to serve another term! Your commitment to the church is extraordinary. MCC remains a vibrant and powerful faith community, in part, because your leadership and faithfulness.

Thank you again, ______, for your wonderful pledge to MCC.

Dear ______,

There are few others within our faith community who have so deeply inspired me since I arrived at MCC earlier this year. You portray a wisdom and spirituality which is palpable, and which I find spiritually and emotionally nourishing. In my experience, these gifts – your gifts – are highly unusual in one so young. Your radiance, your kindness and your joyfulness are wonderful in the truest sense of the word.

In tandem with your great charisma, your generosity to MCC, especially through this season’s Pledge Drive, is a blessing and a joy. On behalf of the Stewardship Team, I want to thank you for this marvelous commitment to our faith community. For myself alone, I want to thank you for helping to create such a blessed and welcoming community.

Dear ______,

It is a joy to call you friend! I am so thankful that you chose to join MCC at the very same time I made my decision. I know this faith community means as much to you as it does to me, and I am so happy to be able to share it with you each and every Sunday! It has also been a great pleasure to spend time with you outside of MCC; I am very hopeful that we will continue to do that, my friend.

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the Stewardship team, I must also thank you for offering your generous support to our faith community through this year’s Pledge Drive. Though giving at MCC is a private matter, you set a great example for all new members with your pledge, and for your willingness to bring your wisdom and heart to Pillars as its newest member.

______, I will look forward to seeing you next Sunday. Let’s make plans to grab lunch or walk the beach one day, too.

Dear ______,

It has been an absolute joy to come to know you and ______during my first year at MCC. I would venture to say that I have never seen a frown cross your sunny face. You radiate pure joy and optimism and faithfulness, and you have done much to make a new member feel warmly at home in this faith community. The work you do at MCC (the church picnic was great fun!) and the talent you share in the Choir are each a lesson in community spirit and loyalty. Some might thing this is enough. But you are also generous with your church, and it is this final grace for which I, on behalf of the Stewardship team, gratefully thank you.

______, you set a standard by offering your time, talent and treasure. I celebrate your leadership in our church!

Dear ______,

What a joy it is to send you this note! You have been an extraordinary inspiration to me all year long – in your kindness to me and others, your great and valuable work for the church, and your generosity to our Pledge Drive. On behalf of the Stewardship Team, I thank you for your gifts, each and every one of them.

On a personal level, I want to warmly thank you for being so generous with your time and wise counsel, and with your patience and good humor. It is a pleasure to work alongside you and a treasure to spend time with you in quieter moments; during our parking lot exchanges and at brunch and over a casual lunch in the social hall. For me, you embody this faith community; it is a richer, more genuine and a more human experience because of your presence and your grace.
