TEACHER EXPECTATIONS: Upon entering the room, prepare to begin class.Be respectful to yourself and others.Nocell phone use allowed during instruction, tests, and graded assignments. If your phone is being used during these times, it will be taken and you risk receiving a zero. Do not leave class without permission. A hall pass MUST be used. Do not share calculators or other materials during quizzes or exams. No eating during class. Attend tutorials as needed. Remain seated until the bell rings for dismissal.Follow rules in the CMS student code-of-conduct handbook.

  • Chapter Syllabi – A syllabus that outlines the title, objectives and section topics is given to each student at the beginning of each chapter.

Other information such as: a daily agenda plan, assignments, important dates, vocabulary, AP exam tips, etc.may also be included.

  • Tests – Tests are cumulative in an effort to recap objectives that are tested on the AP exam. The AP exam is May 11, 2017. Re-tests are available at request for any student scoring lower than 80% for a max score of 80%. Re-tests must be taken within 2 weeks of the returned test.

*Cheating is unacceptable on any work. If caught cheating, a zero will be given and a referral will be written.

  • Absences – After 10 absences, attendance recovery is required in order to pass the class.
  • Make-up work– Students are responsible for arranging a time to complete make-up work, including tests or quizzes, in a timely fashion. Full credit is awarded when the make-up work is completed and turned in by the date set by the teacher. When absent, check the make-up work folder to obtain any missing handouts. . Also, it is the student’s responsibility to get any instructional notes missed. If absent for a quiz/test, students are responsible for arranging a time to take the quiz/test missed on the DAY OF RETURN. If the quiz/test missed has been scored and returned to students, then the student that will take a test/quiz different from the rest of the class.

NOTE: Students present for instructional content that are absent on review day are required to take the test.

  • Late Work – All late work will be penalized using teacher discretion. Submitting late work will result in a lower grade. Typically, amax score of 70% within 3 school days; and a max score of 60% after 3 school days. Late work will not be accepted once the quarter ends.
  • Tardy Policy – Each time you are late for class – unexcused – you must sign the tardy log. Parents will be contacted for habitual tardiness. Consequences are based on school policy.
  • Hall Passes – Students must have written permission from the teacher to leave class. Students will not be released during the first or last 15 minutes of class or during a test. Be sure to write a pass and sign the clip board before leaving class. You have 8 hall passes per semester.
  • Technology – Cell phones /electronic devices may not be used during the instructional block without teacher permission. Cell phone and chrome book use is only allowed during class activities that require internet access and will be monitored by the teacher.
